Overview

VCFY (“VCFY”, “we”, “us”) provides a web-first digital business card and identity management service (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

1) Account Information

  • Email address and basic details you provide when creating an account.
  • Authentication and security data needed to keep you signed in (for example, session identifiers).

2) Profile Information You Provide

When you use the dashboard, you may provide:

  • Name, job title, company, bio, and other identity details.
  • Contact methods (phone, email, website) and social/communication links.
  • Custom links you add.
  • Media you upload or link to (avatar, cover image, share/OG image, intro video URL).
  • Optional address information (you can choose whether to show it publicly).

Public profiles: If you set your profile to Published, the information you choose to include becomes publicly accessible at your VCFY URL (for example /u/[slug]). You can unpublish or update it at any time.

3) Usage and Analytics Data

We collect usage data to run, secure, and improve the Service, such as:

  • Page views, QR scans (for example when opened with ?source=qr), link clicks, and vCard downloads (“Save Contact”).
  • Timestamps and related metadata (for example, which profile and which link was clicked).
  • Device/browser information (for example, a user-agent category).
  • A hashed version of IP address for deduplication and fraud/abuse prevention.

We may also receive standard server logs from our hosting providers (which can include IP address and request details) for security and debugging.

4) Payment and Billing Information

If you purchase a subscription or credits, payments are processed by third-party payment providers. We do not store full payment card numbers. We may receive transaction-related information such as billing email, payment status, product/plan, and subscription lifecycle details.

5) AI Features (Optional)

If you use AI-powered features (for example, bio polishing), we process the text/content you submit to generate results. This may involve sending the content to third-party AI providers. Please do not submit sensitive information you do not want processed.

6) Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you signed in (authentication).
  • Remember preferences (for example, theme).
  • Measure usage and performance (when analytics integrations are enabled).

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Some cookies are required for the Service to function.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide and maintain the Service (create and render profiles, generate vCards, deliver QR downloads).
  • Process payments, subscriptions, and credits.
  • Provide customer support and respond to requests.
  • Improve reliability, prevent abuse, and secure the Service.
  • Send transactional communications (for example, account and billing notices).

How We Share Information

We may share information with:

  • Service providers who help operate the Service (hosting, database, storage, email delivery, analytics, payment processors, and AI providers), subject to appropriate safeguards.
  • Legal or safety reasons (to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect users and the Service).
  • Business transfers (if VCFY is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale).

We do not sell your personal information.

Data Retention

We retain data as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. You can update or delete profile information in the dashboard; you can also request account deletion by contacting us.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your information. You can also control what is public by publishing or unpublishing your profile.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, but no system is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe.

Children’s Privacy

VCFY is not intended for children. Do not use the Service if you are under the age required to consent to online services in your jurisdiction.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date.
